Dear Ravi,

How are you & your family doing? Hope you are back in Canada and settled back. So what's news? Hope everything is going fine.

I am surprised to see 3 emails from you and extract of  a supposed Chat with me on the 4th of August.  I never did chat with you. I am surprised. I dont know who chat with you using my ID. Probably this has also caused some misunderstanding too. As owner of the email ID its my moral responsibility to clear the issue. Please excuse me. This kind of things seems to be going on over the internet a lot. There are a lots of emails being sent from my ID and also received by me from others, which I never I actually sent nor know the people from whom the emails are being sent. I have heard of this kind of incidences from many others .

Pl dont think otherwise. We are very good friends. I would never think of not talking or chatting with you. In fact a person who goes out of his way to associate with as many people as even not possible too and moreover already into this kind of initiative very much since long. And i am also into reviving old associations disconnected by the fast pace of the modern technological time, pre-occupations of people into their own activities, priorities, commitments etc etc.

A series of emails from you came to me as a pleasant surprise sir, that to in this fashion. Any way, I was glad to hear from an old friend, whatever way it was. I always keep looking for emails from old friends, relatives, acquaintances etc etc. Of course most of us do keep looking or thinking the same way, no doubt. And when I come to see a well known or familiar name in the list of in box  i automatically sport a broad smile and get lost into a totally different world of thoughts totally oblivious of the present material world where, I too am supposedly a part.

Just to share with you, very coincidentally, a couple of days ago, another old friend sent in an email after a very long time, all of a sudden, referring a series of emails, supposedly sent by me.In the process, he had an excuse to contact me. Nowadays sir, I have become very rest  less in maintaining contacts and associations. I want more and more people to associate day by day, the urge is getting more and more intensified day by day. I get an opportunity to have personal interaction with anyone, that's it, the guy becomes my victim. Or this kind of emails or letters, business letters etc etc. I eat the audience's brains out. I was mentioning about an old friend's email in the above lines. I shot a lengthy reply to me. Fortunately, he took it positively and also promptly acknowledged my reply with a "thanks".

Well sir, I am sorry to take your time. By the way ,I just remembered from your exchange through the supposed chat with me, about your inquiries of my  contacts with Ravi Saab. Well , I am not sure, if you received my email, sent to you during the early days after the tel-talk we had during your rush-o-india trip. I did mail to you during those days itself, that I did meet him after a week or so, tele-talk etc and also presented a carton of alphonso to the senior couple. It was definitely a memorable and pleasant occasion. Mr. ravi & Mrs. ravi extended a warm welcome and we together went Nostalgic about olden & golden days we all spent together. In the meanwhile, what happened, I had a short visit to make to Qatar and to your Pleasant Surprise, I am now at Qatar, but am back in India shortly.

So , I will contact Mr. Ravi when I am back in India and keep you posted of any developments. It was nice of you to give me a call and even pass on the contact of Mr. ravi. You got me an  opportunity to revive another old association, if not anything else.

Its always been in me to maintain relationships,( good ones),of reviving old connections and getting deliberately into new associations, very aggressively and am not leaving any circle of people. Childhood friends or associations, Family and relatives, old colleagues, other acquaintances etc.

Anyway once again sir, sorry to take your time. Will be in regular touch, please also do so.

My best regards and wishes to you and Madam and love to your cute little daughter.

Vedam Chandrasekhar

SOMETHING THAT WE OFTEN MISS-OUT IN LIFE

Hari! Om!

Read this story and revert with what you have to say or do.....................................

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the
Bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child
Collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

1. What were the five words?
2. What is the implication of this story?

The husband just said "I am with you Darling"

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand miles Begins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

This story is really worth reading. ..... Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out something called L.I.F.E

In-built Human Potential

"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge
waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast
compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet
they pass by themselves without wondering." (St. Augustine)

Potential within us

Once there was a king, who received a gift of two magnificent falcons
from Arabia. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer for
training.

Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that
though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the
sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had
arrived.

The king summoned experts trainers from all the land to tend to the
falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. Having tried everything
else, the king called a Wiseman from neighboring village.

In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high
above the palace gardens. The king asked him, "How did you make the
falcon fly?"

He humbly said to the king, " It was very easy, your highness. I
simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting."

Moral of the Story: "We are all made to fly -- to realize our
incredible potential as human beings. But instead of doing that, we
sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar to us.
The possibilities are endless, but for most of us, they remain
undiscovered. We conform to the familiar, the comfortable. So for the
most part, our lives are mediocre instead of exciting, thrilling and
fulfilling.

So let us learn to destroy the branch of fear we cling to
and free ourselves to the glory of flight."

MORAL STORY FOR PRESENT TIME SOCIETY

Hari! OM!

A good moral story for managers, parents, children & all those who  respect  others work ...

This is a powerful message in our modern society. We seemed to have lost our bearing & our sense of direction.

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked- "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none".

The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.*

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: " Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"
The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

The Director asked, " please tell me your feelings."

The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, " This is what I am looking for to be my manager.
I want to recruit a person who ccn appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

THE SCIENCE OF GAYATHRI MANTRA

GAYATRI MANTRA & Its Scientific Meaning
Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Gayatri mantra has been bestowed the greatest importance in Vedic dharma. This mantra has also been termed as Savitri and Ved-Mata, the mother of the Vedas.
Om bhur bhuvah swahTat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dheemahi
Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat
The literal meaning of the mantra is:
O God! You are Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Almighty, You are all Light. You are all Knowledge and Bliss. You are Destroyer of fear, You are Creator of this Universe, You are the Greatest of all. We bow and meditate upon Your light. You guide our intellect in the right direction.
The mantra, however, has a great scientific importance too, which somehow got lost in the literary tradition. The modern astrophysics and astronomy tell us that our Galaxy called Milky Way or Akash-Ganga contains approximately 100,000 million of stars. Each star is like our sun having its own planet system. We know that the moon moves round the earth and the earth moves round the sun along with the moon. All planets round the sun. Each of the above bodies revolves round at its own axis as well. Our sun along with its family takes one round of the galactic center in 22.5 crore years. All galaxies including ours are moving away at a terrific velocity of 20,000 mile s per second.
Fun & Info @ Keralites.net Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
And now the alternative scientific meaning of the mantra step by step:
(A). OM BHUR BHUVAH SWAH:
Bhur the earth, bhuvah the planets (solar family), swah the Galaxy. We observe that when an ordinary fan with a speed of 900 RPM (rotations Per minute) moves, it makes noise. Then, one can imagine, what great noise would be created when the galaxies move with a speed of 20,000 miles per second. This is what this portion of the mantra explains that the sound produced due to the fast-moving earth, planets and galaxies is Om. The sound was heard during meditation by Rishi Vishvamitra, who mentioned it to other colleagues. All of them, then unanimously decided to call this sound Om the name of God, because this sound is available in all the three periods of time, hence it is set (permanent). Therefore, it was the first ever revolutionary idea to identify formless God with a specific title (form) called upadhi. Until that time, everybody recognized God as formless and nobody was prepared to accept this new idea. In the Gita also, it is said, "Omiti ekaksharam brahma", meaning that the name of the Supreme is Om , which contains only one syllable (8/12). This sound Om heard during samadhi was called by all the seers nada-brahma a very great noise), but not a noise that is normally heard beyond a specific amplitude and limits of decibels suited to human hearing. Hence the rishiscalled this sound Udgith musical sound of the above, i.e., heaven. They also noticed that the infinite mass of galaxies moving with a velocity of 20,000 miles/second was generating a kinetic energy = 1/2 MV2 and this was balancing the total energy consumption of the cosmos. Hence they named it Pranavah, which means the body (vapu) or store house of energy
(prana).Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
(B). TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM:
Tat that (God), savitur the sun (star), varenyam worthy of bowing or respect. Once the form of a person along with the name is known to us, we may locate the specific person.Hence the two titles (upadhi) provide the solid ground to identify the formless God, Vishvamitra suggested. He told us that we could know (realize) the unknowable formless God through the known factors, viz., sound Om and light of suns (stars). A mathematician can solve an equation x2+y2=4; if x=2; then y can be known and so on. An engineer can measure the width of a river even by standing at the riverbank just by drawing a triangle. So was the scientific method suggested by Vishvamitra in the mantra in the next portion as under:-

(C). BHARGO DEVASYA DHEEMAHI:
Bhargo the light, devasya of the deity, dheemahi we should meditate. The rishi instructs us to meditate upon the available form (light of suns) to discover the formless Creator (God). Also he wants us to do japa of the word Om (this is understood in the Mantra). This is how the sage wants us to proceed, but there is a great problem to realize it, as the human mind is so shaky and restless that without the grace of the Supreme (Brahma) it cannot be controlled. Hence Vishvamitra suggests the way to pray Him as under:
(D). DHIYO YO NAH PRACHODAYAT:
Dhiyo (intellect), yo (who), nah (we all), prachodayat (guide to right Direction). O God! Deploy our intellect on the right path. Full scientific interpretation of the Mantra: The earth (bhur), the planets (bhuvah), and the galaxies (swah) are moving at a very great velocity, the sound produced is Om , (the name of formless God.) That God (tat), who manifests Himself in the form of light of suns (savitur) is worthy of bowing/respect (varenyam). We all, therefore, should meditate (dheemahi) upon the light (bhargo) of that deity (devasya) and also do chanting of Om. May He (yo) guide in right direction (prachodayat) our(nah) intellect dhiyo.
So we notice that the important points hinted in the mantra are:-
1) The total kinetic energy generated by the movement of galaxies acts as an umbrella and balances the total energy consumption of the cosmos. Hence it was named as the Pranavah (body of energy). This is equal to 1/2 mv2 (Mass of galaxies x squre of velocity.)
2) Realizing the great importance of the syllable OM , the other later date religions adopted this word with a slight change in accent, viz., Amen and Ameen.
