Modern Science, its discoveries and inventions claim many achievements to convince many people of the times with its Logics, Documentations & aggressive "MARKETING" that the Ancient scriptures are baseless, superstitious, have no meaning and that are useless tinsel. Very contradictingly same have re-discovered very convincingly, found them as the MOTHER OF ALL SCIENCES that include exhaustively all the aspects, beyond the imagination of any Human with his narrowed down thinking( Who, ironically, is in halucination of possessing most advanced thinking faculties & achievements lists) The ancient scriptures had no so called Marketing or Documentation as in comparison to the present but were of the highest levels beyond any imaginations of all the people of the world put together, with their "Worldly Conditioning". They were based on True, Gross & Subtle Experiences of LIFE MASTERS, their LIFE VISION, Introspections & Reterospections, Deep Disciplined Research over a very long period of time by many of the Masters. The unique concept of their design were their relevance for ETERNITY, ie. all time. In our modern time, this, some may understand also as, Marketing. In reality they are all only conveying clear & eternal truths and dont really need any Marketing, documentation. For receiving / digesting & using any knowledge, one should be really fit, physically, mentally. Know thier values, merits & demerits, strengths & weaknesses, the uses and disuses, else it is harmful, detrimental to the individual or the Mankind / Globe / The cosmos itself. That is what the modern science is doing Quite similar are many of the "So called" Gross Modern Knowledge texts, from which we develop intelligence, i.e expertise or proficiency in the particular subject of study. Whereas, some of the OLD TEXTS as these are to develop our INTELLECTS and take them beyond this world to higher planes. The gross world texts also do have the depths but our default focus is only to the extent of usage towards a particular purpose or job or rather merely with an aim to develop skills and thus making ways for earning a livelihood through exchange of the knowledge skills for MONEY, FOOD SHELTER & CLOTHING.We don't go beyond our levels of capacities to venture into any understanding or learning, almost UNAWARE. Any true master of the subjects can vouch for this. There would definitely be many contradictions, in these texts, which are actually APPARENT. The deep message of such APPARENT contradictions is that we should deliberately use our thinking faculties, question and analyse the so believed contradictions, ourselves and extract the hidden truth. As we use, the Subtle Intellect gets sharpened. Being conditioned to this worldly affairs right from the time we are born we all the time tend to relate anything with this world. We need to think and and analyse beyond this world to get to receive such knowledge. And it is only then the question to respond,digest & react. The power of our Mind & or Intellect ( Both are integral parts of our Mental Equipment) is such that we could go to the deepest of the depths, understand or digest the philosophies of life in a jiffy or may never even be able to go near receiving the knowledge despite the Mastery of all the Texts available.So obviously the mastery referred here in that case is only APPARENT. The Mind & Intellect here are only differentiated in such texts or commentaries to make us understand the deep philosophies through the limitations of Communication / languages and our worldly conditioning.
A point to append as a CAUTION is the study & understanding of any subject or text of philosophy should be from ABSOLUTE POINT OF VIEW or an "out of the world" reference. Whereas the APPLICATIONS need be in relevance to our present world or our SWDHARMA, ie. individual nature.
