POST BY SRI THIRUPATHUR R SADASIVAN
2026 may have dawned just a few days ago and with that many of you would have failed to notice that *a quarter century has already passed by since the dawn of the new millennium*, isn't it.
In these 25 years, children have grown up, begun new lives of their own and many among us have, almost before we realized it, got elevated and stepped into the role of grandparents too.
At the same time, we are witnessing our contemporaries depart, one by one, gently reminding us of the fragile and transient nature of life.
With such a scenario, don't you feel, a Democles sword is staring at our face, any time our day may arrive for us to depart, am I right.
None of us knows about our last moment. Recently, one of my colleagues had shared that her husband passed away on Ugadi last, within a brief span of fifteen minutes, without suffering, hospitalization or medical intervention of any kind.
To be granted such a peaceful departure, without pain or becoming a burden to others, is indeed a rare blessing. Yet, in truth, these matters lie beyond human control. God is great. The time and manner of our departure rest entirely in His hands.
We have to wait for such an eventuality with folded hands.
Indeed! having come in the only guarantee is that we have to get out any time, quietly without any notice and without carrying anything or anyone including our "so called" bodies.
ReplyDeleteWhat is in our hands is 'how'. We can make it graceful. We can be good people. We needn't do/ think ill or find fault with others *BUT understand and accept things/ people/situations/environment as they are* . We can also provide for others.
People/ others may be family members, relatives, friends, community or for that matter anything to everything.
This way our exit would be smooth, effortless, non-return and easy for people, whom we leave behind as we take the flight.
We have all crossed the first phase, ie. *Brahmacharya Ashramam of this Century* and entered the *Householder phase,* where in our goals need switch over from selfish individual settings to Collective ones, irrespective of our ages, caste, faith, creed, economics.
Ie. From a Panic Run or Padatta Ottam to an *attitude of Walk Together or Onraaga Nadapom*
Whereby, we all benefit in all round ways and with no difficulties or stress or strain.
The upcoming Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara - Puthandu or Ugadi, also conveys similar message of Spiritual inclination / significance.
